This will be short. I will say this about my father – he remembered looking for and finding work in the 1950's & early 1960's when you could quit or be fired and have a replacement similar job within a day or two – each job supplied a living wage, if minimal .. and he explained this to me (and I assume to others of his children) while saying this is clearly not the case anymore. He was able to support a very large family of 9 as a teacher in the 1960's and when he returned to that career in late 1970's and 1980's he could barely support the reduced family size of 3.
