I am afraid that because my building single elevator is not working – waiting for a part, they say – I am not able to go people-watch by the road as I am used too and many others seem used to.
I am able to carefully and slowly go down (and up) the two flights of stairs but because it aggravates my lower back and causes numbness below, one leg or more, I have limited my trips – I will go for Mass but that will be it until elevator fixed – they say Tuesday the part will arrive, although the note on elevator says a week – I will likely not leave the floor.
It was the perfect opportunity to argue for a 'fire-pole' for going down, and the same 'tube' can use high pressure air blower to push people up .. as seen in videos where those fancy team skydivers practice in – one or two at a time.
.. we have some 'big boned' people – so the pole could be used for those more buoyant from shooting-up and smashing and being pinned at the top – and no one is suggesting putting fake spikes which the fear of being impaled on so to hold on to center pole to control accent.
Would you believe I get a similar reply to that suggestion as when I suggested I might rent two adjacent parking spots ($50 total per month) at bottom of building to hold an alligator pen, complete with water pool. Not allowing a pig I can understand because of zoning laws, but a pet alligator should not be considered an agricultural live-stock.
