.. My High School had a Sci-Fi English class (what a great education!) .. and it was my favorite because of these kind of lectures.
We read and discussed 'Caves of Steel', 'Left hand of Darkness', and a few others in that class.
Although I got a lot from the Steinbeck & Hemingway class, for example - it was not as much fun.
'Of Mice & Men', 'Sun Also Rises', 'Grapes of Wrath', 'The Pearl', 'Old Man and the Sea', ... I could hope all our young adults and children have at least as good of an education - whatever fits best with their abilities and challenging enough to be interesting.
