The most I did with (all hardwood) pallets was to make a manure ramp, and even used saves nails from the pallets .. although it did cost the sharpening of many circular saw blades, and all that cutting took most of the life out of the professional grade circular saw.
Not considering Time spent .. I think it still was a big savings, and I enjoined the mechanical disassemble and occasional joyful physical violence needed with pry-bar. .. the ramp lasted for many many years. Had I – like this man – used a hand saw, I would have been in even better shape then the Lumpy-me was already.
The pallets were free, and the softwood pallets' wood was useful, and the bits and chunks were great for wood-stove kindling. Listening to Shortwave or early audio-books – some of which that if I happen to listen to one now that I was then – I would get Flashes as to what I was doing while that section was playing., ..
